* General features of induction ranges
Q: Induction ranges make oil less splashing. What does this mean?
A: One of main causes makes your kitchen dirty is oil. This is because micro-oil parcels drift along the ascending air current generable by flames. However, as induction ranges don¡¯t produce flames, there is less ascending air current, which results in less oil splashing. Therefore, you can keep your kitchen clean more easily. Take a look around your range after frying foods. It would be hard to find oil stains.
Q: Is there any magnetic effect?
A: Keep your credit card or bank account with a magnetic band. Data on the magnetic band can be lost.
Q: Does the electromagnetic field generated by induction ranges have any influence on humans?
A: It is reported that there is almost no impact on human bodies. DIPO Electronics follows regulations in and out of Korea (Compared to guidelines of the ICNIRP which is supported by the WHO and ILO, DIPO's induction ranges generate sufficiently weak electromagnetic fields.)?
Q: Is there any risk of fire?
A: It is very unlikely that induction cooking causes a fire. However, if an empty cooking vessel with a thin deformed bottom is overheated and then oil is poured right when the vessel becomes red-hot, this can start a fire. However, this cannot happen under normal cooking situations.
* How to use induction ranges
Q : Is it difficult to use the induction range?
A: DIPO induction ranges come with various safety devices. So, they are safe. The most various safety devices are applied to DIPO induction ranges.
Q: Is it safe when I forget to turn off the range?
A: DIPO induction ranges have a safe power-off function. After 99 minutes the range is on, it is turned off automatically. If food in a cooking vessel is burning, it detects overheating and shuts off power. So, it is very safe.
Q: How can I clean the induction range?
A: It is easy to clean the induction range.
After cooking, clean the range with sponge soaked with a kitchen cleaner. If stains are left long, they can decolorize the range and they are hard to remove. So, clean stains as soon as possible. Also, if there is a hardened substance on the upper plate, you may not be able to set frying temperatures. In this case, use the scraper which is included when the range is delivered to remove the substance. Be careful not to scratch the upper plate. This may cause a glass crack.
Q: What kind of cookware can I use in induction cooking?
A :
Applicable: Steel, porcelain, stainless steel 18-10, 18-8, 18-0 cookware (There can be inapplicable cookware.)
Inapplicable: Glass, copper, aluminum, 100% stainless steal cookware with a diameter less than 12cm, and grill.
Recommended: Cookware with a flat bottom with a diameter of 12~26cm. The bottom should be apart from the upper plate less than 5mm.
How to find out whether it is applicable: Cookware with a induction mark or vessels to which a magnet sticks can be used for induction cooking. If you want to check it by yourself, follow the below steps.
¡Ü Put a cooking vessel with 200 ml of water on the range. Then turn on the range.
¡Ü If you choose a right cooking vessel, the power LED will show desired power, but if not, the power LED will keep blinking.
¡Ü DIPO induction ranges provide the best power for applicable cookware.
Q: During cooking, some cooking vessels make a noise. What shall I do?
A: Some cooking vessels make a noise. It doesn¡¯t mean the range has a problem. If you change the position of a cooking vessel, noise may stop.
* Economic efficiency of induction ranges
Q: Compared to gas ranges, how much does it cost to maintain the induction range?
A: See the following table.

Q: How about energy efficiency?
A: If cooking equipment is lined up from the lowest energy efficiency, the results are as follows.
LNG, LPG (45~55%) -> Halogen (60%) -> Highlight(75%) -> Induction (90%)

Since the induction range heats a cooking vessel only, there is almost no energy loss. As electromagnetic fields are adjusted to the size of a vessel, the induction range has unnecessary energy losses. Also, the induction range leaves little energy after cooking. Since induction cooking does not raise ambient temperatures, it increases the energy efficiency of air-conditioners in the summer.
* Comparison with other cooking equipment
Q: Compared to gas ranges, what are the benefits of induction ranges?
A: Induction ranges have following benefits.
¨Í No oxygen consumption, no harmful gas emission.
¨Î No risk of fire or burns.
¨Ï Various safety devices protecting users.
¨Ð Clean and fresh cooking environments.
Q: Compared to other heating electric ranges (highlight, halogen), what are the strengths of induction ranges?
A:
¨Í Fast cooking with precise cooking temperature control.
¨Î No remaining heat which poses no risk of burns.
¨Ï High energy efficiency - more efficient by over 40%.
¨Ð Longer life than halogen ranges.
Q: There are ranges with a glass upper plate. What are the characteristics of these ranges?
A: They can be divided into three types.
1) Highlight range: The highlight range heats its coil to transfer heat to cookware. So, split food can stick to the upper plate and special tools are needed to clean this. Since it takes much time to raise and lower temperatures, it is not easy to control temperatures.
2) Halogen range: Its heat source is a halogen lamp. Its life is limited. You have change the lamp after its life comes to an end.
3) Induction range: Without heating the upper plate, a cooking vessel itself generates heat. So, the induction range enables fast and precise temperature control and has the highest energy efficiency. Also, it has the most diverse safety functions.
Q: How are DIPO high power induction ranges different from imported low power ones?
A:
¨Í As DIPO induction ranges enable fast cooking with their strong power, they are used as main cooking equipment replacing gas ranges.
¨Î Going through 50 worst tests, DIPO induction ranges can be used stably without much problem in harsh conditions.
¨Ï Equipped with self-diagnose functions, DIPO induction ranges turn off power in case of overload, overvoltage, overcurrent and abnormal high temperature.
¨Ð With a wider power range(150w~2640w) than low power equipment (400w/1300w), DIPO induction ranges can provide diverse power for various foods.
¨Ñ Various cooking vessels are applicable to DIPO induction ranges.
¨Ò DIPO induction ranges have a 3-step warming function and a dynamic frying temperature control mode.
¨Ó Even when they are used for a long time, DIPO induction ranges can operate stably with less vibration and noise.
¨Ô DIPO induction ranges are safe, strong and standardized.
* Others
Q: Is it necessary to increase electricity capacity to install an induction range?
A: It depends on electricity capacity supplied to your home.
In general, electric supply per home is 30A( 7kW).
Since ranges are on only during cooking, one or two induction elements can be operated with normally supplied electricity. However, to use a range with two induction elements, you need to supply main power to the range directly. To do this work, you may have to pay \70,000~\100,000.
Q: The upper plate is glass. Is it strong enough?
A: The upper plate is heat-proof tempered glass. It is proved to be safe for cooking. However, it can be scratched by sharp metal and be broken by a strong shock. So, you need to be a little careful.
Q: What is heat-proof tempered glass (Ceramic glass)?
A : Since it is produced at 1200¡É, it can stand 650~750¡É of heat. Also, it is resistant to shocks, scratches and chemical reactions.
Q: Are there any electric ranges?
A: The followings use electricity.
* Hot Plate: The black plate (whole upper plate) generates heat. Since it is the least powerful among electric ranges, it is used for warming food.
* Highlight range: It may be the most advanced range. Instead of heat, it generates light. It is more efficient than hot plates and any cookware can be used. Since its upper plate is heated, it can give you a burn. Since it is imported mostly from Europe, its price is high.
